6 vegan lipsticks that really pop

1 BURT’S BEES GLOSSY LIPSTICK IN ‘BLUSH RIPPLE’, £9.99, BURTSBEES.CO.UK

SIAN: This is an absolute knockout. The packaging is gorgeous, and the scent of the lipstick is subtle with a berry hint. The dark pink shimmer was beautiful, with a subtle effect. It’s going to be one of my staple lippies, not just for summer, but all-year-round.

HOLLY: Rich and moisturising; this 100% natural product was my go-to essential on a recent holiday to Greece. The brand also gets extra brownie points for the chic packaging that’s made from 60% recycled materials.

2 BEAUTY WITHOUT CRUELTY NATURAL INFUSION MOISTURISING LIPSTICK IN ‘ROSEHIP’, £10.50, BWCSHOP.COM

SIAN: The bright coral pink of this lipstick is a revelation – I’ve never worn a hue quite like it. The lippy provides great coverage and is perfect for summer, providing a burst of vibrant colour. It lasted for four hours; even through my lunch – it’s bound to become one of my faves.

HOLLY: If an acid pink pop is what you’re after, this vegan lippy offers impressive colour and coverage. What is so interesting about this lipstick is that it takes on a slightly different shade depending on the pigmentation of your lips. Whilst it gave a slick of hot pink across my lips, it took on a deep coral hue when Sian applied it to hers.

3 CHARLOTTE TILBURY HOT LIPS IN ‘HOT EMILY’, £25, CHARLOTTETILBURY.COM

SIAN: This lipstick has a lovely sweet scent and a creamy texture. The colour is a bright coral hue, creating the perfect pout to match minimal eye make-up, and it really brought my tan to life. It’s a gorgeous lippy, and it received plenty of compliments!

HOLLY: Charlotte Tilbury may have called this shade ‘Hot Emily’ but I’m referring to it as ‘Sexy-Caj Coral’! Finally, a modern pinky-orange that looks vibrant, yet sophisticated. It’s worth investing in this lipstick for the rose-gold packaging alone, but the creamy stick with hints of vanilla is a joy to apply.

4 ODYLIQUE LIPSTICK IN SHADE 19 ‘PEACH MELBA’, £18, ODYLIQUE.CO.UK

SIAN: This Odylique colour is a deep nude pink, which I find flatters every outfit and keeps my make-up looking as natural as possible. It lasted for an entire afternoon, and the velvety sheen provides a lovely finish.

HOLLY: This lipstick ticks all the ethical boxes: Fairtrade? Tick. Cruelty-free? You bet! Certified organic? Naturally! But I wasn’t sure if the nude-pink hue screamed summer vibes… until I tried it on for size. The peach colour is extremely flattering and gives long-lasting coverage.

5 AXIOLOGY NATURAL LIPSTICK IN ‘BONAFIDE’, £23, AXIOLOGYBEAUTY.COM

SIAN: It’s impossible not to admire the recycled packaging and glossy gold tube of this lippy, but the hue didn’t quite work for me. The colour was a deep fuchsia, verging into a light red-pink, which didn’t suit my skin tone very well. Aside from this, I can’t deny that the lipstick is professional-quality, and applies in easy smooth movements to give a sheer, consistent finish.

HOLLY: I was already pretty smitten with the sleek gold packaging of this lippy, but my love affair was about to grow even more intense once this copper-pink colour was plastered all over my lips. This honeysuckle shade was my absolute favourite and I love the fact that it’s 100% natural, vegan and cruelty-free.

6 LOLA INTENSE COLOUR IN ‘CASHMERE BERRY’, £11.95, LOLAMAKEUP.COM

SIAN: Having glided on like a dream, this hue stayed put for the entire morning. I usually steer clear of red lipsticks, as I rarely find any that match my skin tone. However, this deep, cool berry shade is gorgeous, with purple tones which really made my green eyes pop.

HOLLY: Upon first glance, this looks like a classic berry red shade, which I was excited to test out, however once applied, I was sporting a rich fuchsia pink. One thing’s for sure though, the more I’ve worn it, the more I’ve grown to like it.
